We have an excellent, new preschool ministry. The church recently invested over $750,000 in a new preschool building that will also serve our Sunday School and after school program. We have chapel every Wednesday at 9:30 in the sanctuary, and we are a Christian preschool by intent and curriculum.
Our Philosophy:
The Georgetown Presbyterian
Preschool provides quality early childhood education as an integral part of the
ministry of this church. The preschool operates under the session through
the Division of Christian Education and is governed by a board appointed by the
session. The board provides oversight for the total program including
personnel, finances, faculties, and curriculum. It is responsible for
setting policy, interpreting the ministry to the congregation and serving as a liaison
and advocate for the Georgetown Presbyterian Preschool with the session
and the various committees of the church. The board provides assistance
and support to enable the director to fulfill his/her responsibilities for the
operation of the preschool.
Classes:
For the 2006-7 year we offer 3 classes: a two year old class (taught by Dena
Dickerson), a three year old class (taught by Judy Curtis), and a four
year old class (taught by Sue McGlone).
Preschool Board:
Steve Wilkins (ex- officio);
Eddie Fesperman - Chair, Carol Anne Van Dyne, Kim Jordan, Joe Martin, Marcy Carl
Scholarships- There is a Wes McNeill Scholarship Program available to those in need.
